No sex. I repeat: no sex. That means, my young pretties, that you can read this one without any parental guidance or forbiddance.
Let’s be clear: many young adult novels start out the same: bad boy meets nice girl. Bad boy wants good girl. Good girl also wants bad boy but knows the dangers and tries to stay away. Boy and girl get together and it works. Until that thing happens that makes them rip apart. They cry, their hearts bleed and it’s over. But they can’t stay away from each other, decide to forgive whatever’s to be forgiven and admit their love.
This one is no different than any other EXCEPT for the thing that rips them apart. I did not see that one coming. I usually do. I’m usually pretty good at guessing the hurtle that’ll make it explode before it can be made right again. Wow. Talk about a surprise.
It’s a fun read for young people. Both characters have their share of flaws and problems they’ve had to overcome. It’s nicely written and a good story. It continues on in #2, which I will leave to my young readers.
